Decorating & Design

Like many of you, I'm addicted to Pinterest. I think I may be spending my evenings pinning my life away! There are just so many ideas floating out there, which inspires me tremendously. Especially when I'm working on a home decorating or design project.Right now I'm focusing my browsing efforts on a guest bathroom for a client. I'm thinking white subway tiles with dark grout, which is easily becoming one of my favorite looks for kitchens and bathrooms. We all know that our guests are checking themselves out in the bathroom mirror, so why not provide them with one of

Lilac. It's here; it's everywhere. And, while the jury is still out for some homeowners, many interior and furniture designers have embraced it full-force. In fact, I'm speculating that it will be the 2014 color of the year because I feel like I see it everywhere.Take one of my favorite local furniture stores in Mount Pleasant - Celadon. They are boasting two beautiful lilac couches that are accented perfectly with fun colors and patterns. You can see why lilac can certainly be treated as a 'new' neutral. I love the hint of green on these pillows, and isn't that couch to

I recently snuck out-of-town with my husband for an adult-only weekend to Austin, TX. We took ourselves quite seriously on the duck tour. But, we cleaned up nicely. I think I was picturing a lot of cowboy boots, cowboy hats and Tex Mex. Boy, was I mistaken! Yes, there were tons of cowboy boots, some cowboy hats and definitely LOTS of Tex Mex (man was it good!), but there was this amazing eclectic, fun, kinda hippie town that caught me off guard.   Cowboy Boot heaven! Austin, has a huge music scene, a lake, some serious hills, an awesome downtown area and some seriously

Grab your paint brush and roller; it's time to paint! Usually our first instinct is to search through the latest neutral hues or resort to a 'safe' color we've applied to other homes or walls. My favorite white is Benjamin Moore Moonshine as it always makes any room look clean. Benjamin Moore Moonshine (Two Carolina Nesters) There's absolutely nothing wrong with this approach, and you always have the option to add color variety with vibrant accents like pillows, rugs and throws

Remember a couple of weeks ago I told you about my One Kings Lane mood board that I entered into their "The Build Your Perfect Room" contest? Well, yesterday, to my surprise, this tweet was sent to my attention from OlioBoard: Me? Hooray! I was so honored! I mean, of course, I love my selections but it's flattering to hear that you did to! Here's a look at the final mood board: So, what do you love about this board?

Many homeowners in my community of Mount Pleasant are often stuck questioning whether they should sell their property and list or invest in key remodels, thus trading up their spaces. It's good to really consider everything and discuss important market statistics with your Realtor before making a decision. Here are a few items that need to be evaluated before selling: Are the values of the homes in your neighborhood increasing? How does your neighborhood compare to others surrounding you? How quickly are your neighbors selling their homes? How many homes are for sale - competition indicator - in your neighborhood? If you are

This post is WAY over due. Now am I surprised? Not at all. I'm fortunate to wear several hats - Realtor, mother, wife, decorator, home renovator, furniture re-modeler and I think party planning has temporarily been added to my list. But, sometimes I miss posting some fun "before" or "after" project shots that I would LOVE to share with you! It's been a year, but, finally, here is the story on Logan
