Decorating & Design

I know you've seen this style all over the place lately as it's not new. But, it's still fabulous, and I, along with many others, love spotted fabric. Some call it dalmatian (for obvious reasons), while others simply refer to it as "spots". No matter the name, I have been on a mad search for it! I need this printed fabric for two items: My One Room Challenge and a fantastic settee that I need to re-upholster for a client. I keep going back to these images for my inspiration because I love the look of the spots as they

I was perusing Instagram when this One Room Challenge logo popped up in my feed. I was immediately curious about it and had to learn more because my love of decorating and challenges goes hand-in-hand. Did you see my last designer's showcase challenge? As I began to read, I noticed there was an option to join and link-in with other designers. And, so my new challenge begins! I have six weeks to complete a room, and I must update my readers weekly with my progress. I needed this motivation as we are in the middle of adding a bathroom to this

Last weekend I was honored to participate in the Daniel Island Life Designer Showcase Challenge at Lyndon Leigh. It was a true blast! I'm not usually tasked with decorating an entire space with an unlimited budget, and, boy was it so much fun!! Their store is stocked with some gorgeous keepsakes and wonderful trendy pops of flair. Perhaps that is what inspired me to focus on a black/white theme with "Color Pops". I loved running into some of my favorite Charleston people. Here's Chassity Evans from Look Linger Love and Katherine McDonald - famous LulaKate designer. If you didn't get a

I was so honored when Lyndon Leigh asked me to participate in Daniel Island Life's Designer's Challenge. Lyndon Leigh - which just happens to be one of my favorite home stores - will be hosting the event tomorrow night, March 29. Five interior designers were asked to create an interesting space using furniture and accents from the store. I chose to go with a "Color Pop" theme as it really represents my clean and simple style. I started with many black/white pieces - rug, console, lamps - and complimented them with bright pops of color. I am really into pinks,

I'm down to the final stages on some projects, and all that remains are some great accessories. As I peruse all of my vendors sights, I could not help but get a little excited about Global Views. I'm about to place a big order to fill my retail space with some of these fabulous items, and many of them retail for under $50! LOVE these Ocean bottles! The color and the gold detail are amazing. The keyhole silver vases are simple, but stunning! The Wooster Street Platter is a must. Love this little sea star vases, which come in gold, silver and

Follow my blog with Bloglovin I'm always shopping for lights, and a lot of times this is where I have to be super cautious not to blow my budget. So, I put together a list of lights - table, floor and ceiling - worth checking out for under $100! Budget lights are out there! You just have to know where to look. But, if your budget is bigger, I can certainly accommodate that as well. ;) Where do you look for your budget lights?

Follow my blog with Bloglovin There's no denying my love for Homegoods. I shop there often for my clients and for myself. Lately, I cannot get in their fast enough because their shipments of home decor items have been AH-MAZING! As you and I know each store differers on items, however I could not resist sharing what my Charleston Homegoods store had in stock this week! The art lately has been fabulous! I left our store with two large pieces and surprised my clients with them. They were over the moon on how great they were

Decorating trends and hot colors for the year change all of the time. I, like everyone else, love the white on white look along with all of the bright colors and accessories you can find right now. And, we already explored one of my favorite current decorating color crushes - gold. But, sometimes I find myself circling back to traditional colors

We all know gold is back and with a vengeance. You almost cannot find anything anymore that does not have gold on it. I, for one, cannot complain because I am just as smitten. I was perusing Zinc Door and really focused on one of my favorite companies, Worlds Away. I've loved their products for a long time. Here are some killer pieces that I would love to incorporate in some of my upcoming projects. Interested?
