Good morning friends!

This post has been very over due! It was a labor of love and in love is what we are with this space.

When we bought our home 5 years ago, this space was an old attic with low ceilings. We ripped off the roof, raised it and created a fun space for our boys. This room has hosted sleepovers, movie nights and fun play dates. When they come home from school, they grab a snack and run straight upstairs.

When the roof came off and was raised, we were left with a blank slate. I added built in bunk beds, a bathroom and did a fun DIY. This DIY is familiar to us because we did it in our master closet as well. It’s built-ins made out of plumbing pipes.

I drew a design plan. Then we got plumbing pipes, spray paint, screws and wood.

First, we sprayed all the piping.

Next we measured out the wall, cut the wood and screwed it into the walls to give the pipes support.

Then we put the parts together, made sure they were level and began screwing them into the wall. (which by the way is not easy, hence my husband and his business partner doing it and not me)

Once those were installed, we built shelves, painted them and began decorating.

The styling and decorating was the fun part! We teamed up with The Land of Nod to add a little fun to this space.

A playroom isn’t complete without a tee-pee and the boys have loved this tee pee so much! They’re always pretending they’re camping or it’s their office. I love seeing their imaginations run wild! And, the built in bunk beds are a hit! We added the most adorable lights from Barnlight Electric in each nook.

Another fun space we created was a reading area for the boys. And these Little Sloane Leaning Bookcases rock! They are adorable, spacious and are the perfect size. We keep books in them, puzzles, art supplies, etc. And, with a reading space you always need a light, this Bright Idea Floor Lamp in blue did the trick for this space. The color was so fun and worked well with the dog wallpaper.

Then of course and art space was very important! We have owned this art table for years now and still enjoy it. The best part of it is that it grows with your children. The legs can be changed out to go taller as your children grow. I love storing the boys art supplies in the Things” Bin because it’s easy to grab and go. And, once the art is complete, they can hang it on the magnet boards.

This room is our happy place! It is fun to hang out here with friends and family. And, to have a place where the boys can play and do what they want.

Thanks for stopping by!
