One Room Challenge Week 5

One Room Challenge Week 5

Stop. Breathe. Only one more week to go! My heart is starting to beat so quickly!! Entering the One Room Challenge has been one of the most stressful yet rewarding experiences I’ve encountered as a designer, and I am SOOOOOOO going to do it again! Thanks for the deadline… it is the ultimate motivation to get this project DONE!

Right now, I’m sitting at The Southern C Summit, and enjoying every moment. But, here’s a quick pause to show you where I am with my guest bedroom. (You can catch up on Weeks 1-4 here.) Does anyone else rely on a trusty to-do list??

1. Headboard
2. Nightstand
3. Rug
4. Dresser
5. Curtains
6. Bedding
7. Seating
8. Pillows
9. Accessories
10. Art
11. Lighting (lamp and overhead)
12. Paint or Wallpaper

Almost done!! Frankly, I don’t usually decorate this quickly. I really like to try different items out to find the perfect addition to a room, and I’m not afraid to make a store return or exchange! I think they know me by name at Home Goods, GDC, Celadon and Target
. πŸ˜‰

But, I’m honestly really happy with the way this room is turning out. My goal of keeping it simple with a black/white canvas and pops of color has really come to fruition.

I’m keeping these pics dark on purpose because I don’t want to show the details until next week! EEEK!

This lamp is shining brightly! And it makes me smile!

I'm keeping this pic dark... I don't want to show all the details until next week! EEEK!

ALMOST done!

If you are looking for me this next week, you’ll know where to find me! At all of the local Mt Pleasant home stores finding items to finish up this room!! It’s going to be gooooood, folks! Check back next week for the big reveal!

I love helping people successfully find and perfect their dream homes in Charleston. This is why I'm dedicated to home selling, buying, decorating, designing and remodeling.

Krystine, it truly has been a pleasure watching a pro as talented as you go through the process! I soy blue and white, two of my favorite colors in decorating my home! Looking forward to your big reveal! A few more days to go, we can do it!

I am so in love with that headboard Krystine! I have a little of that spotty action in the form of pillows in my family room. Such a fun print!!

I’ve never decorated a room this quickly before either. I prefer to let a room unfold a little more organically over time, but I have so many ideas for other rooms that I get distracted and sometimes I take too long to get a room done (in some cases, if at all!). But I am liking the motivation of this 6 week challenge. I just got myself all caught up on your progress and I’m really looking forward to your reveal this week!
