Not Your Grandma’s Ranch: Screen Porch Makeover

Not Your Grandma’s Ranch: Screen Porch Makeover

When we purchased our Mount Pleasant brick ranch, we knew we wanted to add a screened porch to the inviting backyard at some point. To me, it was a huge selling point for this property. My husband actually had the vision of redoing the roof line which made a HUGE difference!

So we began our outdoor home remodeling project and added beams, beadboard, recessed lighting and, of course, a fan.

Pre- construction

Our ultimate goal was to create a comfortable outdoor room, and I feel like that was accomplished! We hung curtains to give it a true room feel. In fact, Ryan made curtain rods out of steel electrical conduit. I had the sectional outdoor couch custom made to fit the corner and then the rest was accessorizing and adding more seating.

Curtains, seating, lighting and more added.

I really got lucky at Home Goods and picked up some amazing items for entertaining. We LOVE our bar cart; it’s a great space to put food on, drinks, plates and glassware.

Home Goods bar cart was our best find!

Bar cart, extra seating and comfortable ottomans.

What is even more fabulous is the cooler on wheels; it has a little bottle opener on the front of it, which we use often. It’s such a pretty cooler and really useful for entertaining! And, of course, we can’t forget the TV. We installed outdoor speakers for watching movies and playing music. We really have enjoyed using it!

And, here’s the final look:

A screened porch is certainly a great addition to your house. It has features that will surely lighten up someone’s mood. I like the combination of colors, by the way. The blue shade blends perfectly with the light tones. It actually reminds me of villas and spas in Bali, Indonesia. Your porch is truly a great place to relax!

Who would have thought that a simple screened porch can turn into a fabulous one? The transformation was really awesome, Krystine! I could really feel the balance between the color and the style of the furniture. Who wouldn’t fall in love with this space? If you want to deviate yourself from stress, you should really stay here!
