Home Tour: The Charles Seignious House

OK, we know how much I adore downtown Charleston. Every time I look at one of our William Means homes for sale it brings back memories of our Queen Street property. Old historic homes like The Charles Seignious House at 45 Hassell Street is definitely worth mentioning. I love how this historic property (circa 1851) has been transformed into a modern living space inside. My favorite features – A-MAZING view of downtown, stunning kitchen with the best upgrades ever, open living space, a private courtyard and multiple side porches. But, enough talking… let’s just take a look at this beautiful Charleston home…

My great-grandparents lived on the second floor of this house through the 30s and 40s and it is where my grandfather grew up. Back then that second floor patio on the back had a detached kitchen house, and the entire back of the house had wide piazzas with stairs to the second and third floors. I wish I could find a photo of the whole house back then. We have many of the porches up close from family photos.
